Hettie Ray Barrett, 78, died Friday, Aug. 13, 2010, at her residence in Vicksburg.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2010, at Hebron Cemetery in Phoenix, Miss. Burial will be at Hebron Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight and from 1 until 2 p.m. Wednesday at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home.

She was born in Holly Bluff and lived most of her life in Vicksburg. She worked for Westinghouse Lighting for a number of years. She sold Avon for 10 years, retiring as district manager. She also sold life, health, accident and burial insurance for some 40 years. She loved animals and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Hester Rhoads; her mother, Ava Elizabeth Passons Rhoads; and a brother, Owen Darrington Rhoads.

Survivors include a daughter, Charisse B. Rogers of Vicksburg; two granddaughters, Chelse Griffin of Vicksburg and Sara Delong of Anchorage, Alaska; a great-grandson, Aiden Blain Delong of Anchorage; three sisters, Hester Hill of Huntsville, Ala., Wilma Pugh of Sontain, Colo., and Martha Mobley of Vicksburg; and one brother, Henry Rhoads of Holly Bluff.

Pallbearers will be Tac Caruthers, Bill Mobley Jr., Kelly Rhoads, Fred Oneal, Lamar Heffner and Tommy Glen Hill.
