Ann W. Hale died Friday, Sept. 3, 2010, at River Region Medical Center. She was 70.
Born in Monroe, La., Mrs. Hale was the daughter of the late Colyer Culpepper Weathersby and Lillian Maxine Dozier Weathersby. She was a graduate of Carr Central High School in the Class of 1958. Mrs. Hale retired from the Waterways Experiment Station Branch of Mutual Credit Union as credit manager. She was a member of the Steel Magnolias’ Luncheon Guild and a communicant of St. Paul Catholic Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Melanie Hale Phillips and Tracie Hale-Smith (Mark) of Vicksburg; her grandson, Austin Hale Phillips of Vicksburg; her sister, Sherrill Anslinger of Many, La.; and her aunt, Louise Dozier of Zwolle, La.
She was predeceased by her husband, retired U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Gene Perry Hale.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Catholic Church with Monsignor Patrick Farrell, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be at Green Acres Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday at Riles Funeral Home and at the church from 10:30 a.m. Tuesday until the service. Memorials may be made to the Vicksburg-Warren Humane Society, P.O. Pallbearers will be Travis T. Vance Jr., Dr. Randy Easterling, George A. “Butch” Phillips, Ed Y. Smith, John Boa and Newell Murphy.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Steel Magnolias’ Luncheon Guild.
