A 17-year-old was taken the hospital early Saturday morning after a one-car wreck on the interstate, said Vicksburg police Deputy Chief Mitchell Dent.

About 3:16 a.m., Dent said, the teen was westbound on Interstate 20 when he ran off the road and into a ditch near the Clay Street exit.

Dent, who declined to give the teen’s name, said the teen told officers he had fallen asleep at the wheel.
