Bernard Shed Blakely

WINONA — Bernard Shed Blakely, formerly of Vicksburg, died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010, at Winona Manor Nursing Home. He was 77.

Mr. Blakely was the son of the late Fred and Annie Bennett Blakely. He was a retired self-employed roofing contractor and an Army veteran, serving in the Korean War. He was a member of Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church in Vicksburg.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lottie June Poe Blakely.

Survivors include four daughters, Theresa Worthy of Winona and Kathy Jane Clark, Sheila Love and Rachael Hollowell, all of Vicksburg; one son, Gene Blakely of Stewart; two sisters, Mary Lee Flint of Holcomb and Barbara Jean Johnson of McCarley; three brothers, John Pat Blakely, Jerry Clifford Blakely and Harold Ray Blakely, all of Winona; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Mount Pisgah Primitive Baptist Church near Duck Hill with Charles Holden officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at Oliver Funeral Home of Winona.

Pallbearers will be Walter Worthy, Aaron Peacock, Adam Peacock, Alex Peacock, Anthony Blakely and Joe Goodson.
