Aurora G. Solis

BURLESON, Texas — Aurora G. Solis, 84, loving wife, mother and grandmother, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010.
Services were at 11:30 today at Greenwood Chapel. Burial followed at Laurel Land Memorial Park.
Aurora was born Aug. 10, 1926, in Chicago, and was raised by Teodoro and Petra Zamora in Porter, Texas. She attended Texas Wesleyan College and later transferred to Howard Payne, where she graduated as a teacher in 1949. Later that year, she married Miguel Feliciano Solis of Nicaragua, whom she met while attending the university. Aurora supported Miguel through his years of medical school. She taught at the American School of Nicaragua and schools in Phoenix and Fort Worth.
Aurora was a devoted believer on her walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. She was always faithful and strong, never doubting her Lord.
The family wishes to give special thanks to the staff of Bridgeway Hospice, who gave gentle loving care to Aurora.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Miguel F. Solis; and one son, Dr. Miguel F. “Mike” Solis Jr.
Survivors include sons, Robert Solis of Fort Worth, Joseph Solis and wife LeAnn, of Grand Prairie, George Solis and wife, Susan of Burleson, and Eric Solis of Vicksburg; daughter, Elizabeth Solis of Gulfport; grandson, George Solis Jr.; granddaughters, Emily, Brooklyn and Bailey; brothers, Alfred Gusman and Stephen Zamora; and other extended loving family members.
