David Edward Jones

David Edward Jones of Vicksburg died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011, at his home surrounded by his family. He was 63.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home and Wednesday from noon until the hour of the service.
David was an avid outdoorsman and a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of the Arkansas Hunting Club and Hasty Volunteer Fire Department. He was a hard worker known for his practical jokes from which no one was spared.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Earl Jones.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Jones; his mother, Gloria Alwine Jones; one son, David Edward “Hootie” Jones II (Marcy); daughters, Stephanie Moon (Cohn), Cisi Mathews (Michael) and Jamie Engdahl (Mark); a brother, Doug Jones (Val); uncle and aunt, Dennis and Elsie Starnes; brother-in-law, John Rogers (Jenny); sister-in-law, Tina Rogers; grandchildren, Matthew Collins, Andrew Collins, Brandon Collins, Cati Mathews, Madi Mathews, Emma Engdahl, Tanner Jones and Isabella Jones; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be David “Hootie” Jones II, Cohn Moon, Michael Mathews, Mark Engdahl, Matthew Collins, Andrew Collins, Brandon Collins and Tanner Jones.
Honorary pallbearers will be BellSouth friends and co-workers and extended Arkansas family.
