Antonnea won the spelling bee after successfully spelling both the word “decaffeinate,” which Ashanti missed, and “froufrou.” Antonnea, the daughter of Demetrice Richardson, will compete in the state spelling bee March 15 in Jackson. Ashanti is the son of Michael Warfield.
