Warren Central softball splits pair at Clinton

Warren Central opened the season Saturday by splitting a pair of one-run games at the Clinton Classic.

In the opener, Clinton scored two unearned runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to beat the Lady Vikes 6-5. Lexi Burleigh went 2-for-4 and scored two runs for WC, while Megan McCullough and Chelsea Worley had two hits and two RBIs apiece.

In game two of their doubleheader, the Lady Vikes bounced back to beat Northwest Rankin 4-3. Katie Busby went 2-for-3 with two runs scored, Worley had two RBIs, and Kendall Parker and Krista Cortezie each drove in a run. WC scored twice in the fourth inning and twice more in the fifth to pull out the victory.
