Lorraine Bowers Hooper

Lorraine Bowers Hooper died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011, at The Olive Branch Senior Care Center in Tallulah. She was 79.
Mrs. Hooper was born in Greenville and had lived in Vicksburg for more than 50 years. She was a member of Hawkins United Methodist Church and Mississippi Square and Round Dancing Association. She worked for a number of years for Cook Eye Clinic and, after retirement, she worked for A.I. Travel. She was a graduate of the University of Mississippi, where she was a member of Delta Gamma sorority.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur F. Hooper; and her parents, Doris and Louis Bowers.
Survivors include a son, Fredrick Louis “Rick” Hooper of Columbia, La.; best friend, William Boykin of Vicksburg; two daughters, Linda Feibelman of Vicksburg and Peggy Hooper Reich of Acworth, Ga.; five grandchildren, Rich Feibelman, Leanne Durham and Meridith, Owen and David Reich; four great-grandchildren, Grace and Lilli Clare Feibelman, Dennis Durham III and Joseph Mark Durham.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Young officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 5 until 7 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Dr. Jim Cook, Jimmy Patrick, Ken Klaus, Joe Gerache Sr., Chuck Gastrell, Dr. Don Jackson, Ronnie Monsour and Bill Caldwell.
Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Olive Branch Senior Care Center.
