Ervin Earl Smith

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Ervin Earl Smith died Saturday, March 19, 2011, at Desert Spring Hospital in Las Vegas. He was 50.
Mr. Smith was a graduate of Port Gibson High School and Jackson State University. He was a veteran of the Air Force, having worked as supervisor for logistics management with 50 Space Wing at Schriever Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie L. Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Glynis Nicholas Smith of Colorado Springs; his mother, Ruth Newsome Smith of Jackson; a son, Masike Turner of Westwego, La.; a stepson, Darren Wingrove of England; two sisters, Valeria Carter and Vikki Lynn Robertson, both of Gaithersburg, Md.; a brother, Marvin Smith of Woodbridge, Va.; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Campbell Chapel Church in Port Gibson. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 until 6 today at Thompson Funeral Home in Port Gibson and Saturday at the church from 1 p.m. until the service.
