The Jackson Generals gave the Mississippi Braves a rude going-away present on Friday night.
Kyle Seager homered twice, Scott Savastano belted a solo shot in the first inning, and the Generals beat the M-Braves 8-6 in the finale of a five-game series at Trustmark Park.
Rich Poythress went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBIs for Jackson, which scored twice in the first inning and never trailed. After the M-Braves cut it to 2-1 on Donell Linares’ RBI double in the second inning, Jackson plated two more runs in the third on an RBI single by Poythress and a double play.
Poythress drove in another run with a fifth-inning double and Seager hit a two-run homer in the sixth to make it 7-2.
Linares finished the game 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for the M-Braves, and Jordan Kreke was 2-for-3 with a double.
The M-Braves open a five-game series tonight at 7:05 at Trustmark Park against the Jacksonville Suns.
