John “Bob” Williams died Monday, May 16, 2011, at River Region Medical Center. He was 69.

A lifelong resident of Vicksburg, Mr. Williams was retired as a machinist from International Paper Co. He was of the Methodist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nell and John R. Williams; and a brother, Bill Williams.

He is survived by his wife, Gail Thorne Williams of Vicksburg; and one son, J.R. “Jami” Williams of Vicksburg.

Services will be at noon Thursday at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Ted Giordano officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday from 10 a.m. until the service.

Pallbearers will be Richie McComas, Bobby McComas, Jeff Pickell, Brent Greer, Jamie Parker and Lee Beauman.

Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Campbell, Bill Collins, Joe Greer, Lonnie Wooley, Thomas Ezell and Franklin Hicks.
