WINNSBORO, La. — Sydney Brooks died Friday, May 20, 2011, at River Region Medical Center. He was 88.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Gill First National Funeral Home in Winnsboro, La. Burial will follow at Myrtle Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Brooks is survived by daughter Cheryl Steven and her husband, Jim, granddaughter Samantha Blount and her husband, Dustin, and great-grandson Keegan Blount, all of Vicksburg.
