Harris ready to play at QB for PCA

Peter Harris was only issued one helmet. This week, at least, he’ll wear a lot of hats.
The Porters Chapel Academy junior is normally a starting wide receiver but will see the majority of his snaps at quarterback in Friday night’s season-opener against Union Christian. It will be the first time Harris has played quarterback in a varsity game.
“It’s going to be kind of tough. I can do it, though. I can do anything I put my mind to,” said Harris, who rushed for 268 yards and three touchdowns as a backup running back last season.
The move became necessary when starter Jonah Masterson had to have his appendix removed three weeks ago. Masterson is recovering nicely and has been throwing in practice. With the opener being a non-district game, however, PCA coach Wade Patrick said he’s content to limit the sophomore to a few series.
Masterson threw for 2,011 yards and 16 touchdowns last season.
