Goldman will lead Corps center

The Vicksburg District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has named Ron Goldman director of the National Modeling, Mapping and Consequence Production Center.

The center supports more than 20 Corps districts.

Goldman began his career with the Vicksburg District in 1977. He was chief of the Corps’ Engineering and Construction Division’s hydraulics branch.

A native of Philadelphia, he has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Mississippi State University. He is a member of the Society of American Military Engineers, the Corps’ Dam Safety Steering Committee, and is a registered professional engineer in Mississippi.

He is married to the former Rita Dickinson of Carthage, and they have two daughters, Heather Hood of Southaven and Holly Porter of Vicksburg. They are members of Bowmar Baptist Church.
