Services for Alean D. Burse will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Zion Traveler’s M.B. Church with the Rev. Alfred Lassiter Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 7 p.m. Friday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Burse died Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011, at River Region Medical Center. She was 81.

She was a retired X-ray technician and a member of Zion Traveler’s M.B. Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sharkey Carson and Rosanna Bland; and her husband, Cleve Burse Sr.

She is survived by three daughters, Sherry Burse, Ida Burse and Linda Burse, all of Vicksburg; five sons, Cleve Burse Jr. of Dallas, Texas, Jimmy Burse of Byram and Timothy Burse, John Burse and Christopher Burse, all of Vicksburg; two stepsons, Robert Mason of Bolton and Willie Green of Vicksburg; seven brothers, Willie Bland and Robert Bland, both of Indianapolis, Ind., Percy Bland of Chicago, John Bland of Davenport, Fla., Fred Bland of Vicksburg and Porter Carson and Gerald Bland, both of Utica; three sisters, Verlean Fisher, Nettie Mae Terry and Bobbie Lee, all of Utica; 17 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives, including Grace Cody of Utica.
