Services for Leatrice Stampley will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Center with Pastor Herman Sylvester officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at Robbins Funeral Home all day Friday and at St. Mary’s Center Saturday from 10 a.m. until the service.

Ms. Stampley died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011, at River Region Medical Center. She was 67.

She attended St. Mary’s Catholic School, Rosa A. Temple High School, Utica Junior College, Alcorn State and Contra Costa College in Berkeley, Calif.

She was a member of Pleasant Green Baptist Church. She was retired and was a well-known musician and pianist for area churches.

She is survived by four daughters, Cassandra Ricks of Vicksburg, Jerline Stampley of Fairfield, Calif., and Bobbie Jean Stampley and Earnestine Judge, both of Sacramento, Calif.; two sisters, Bobbie Jean Johnson of Vicksburg and Mary Louise Watson of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; a brother, Richard Watson of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; aunts, an uncle, other relatives and friends, including Mary Helen Franklin, Velma Bunch, Charlene Jones, Lucy Sims and Patricia Franklin Williams.
