E.C. Loflin Jr.

E.C. “Ish” Loflin Jr. died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011, at his home. He was 86.
Born in Vicksburg, he was the son of the late E.C. Loflin Sr. and Della Griffin Loflin. Mr. Loflin attended Carr Central High School and graduated from Meridian High School. He was a graduate of Georgia Tech University, receiving a mechanical engineering degree.
He served in the Navy in World War II. He retired from LeTourneau in 1992 and continued as a consultant for a number of years. He was a member of the Y’s Men’s Club and Crawford Street United Methodist Church, where he served on numerous boards and committees.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lynette Loflin Nybo.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Loflin of Vicksburg; a daughter, Patricia Darden of Columbia, La.; a son, Russ Loflin of Walsenburg, Colo.; and five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Crawford Street United Methodist Church in Wesley Hall with the Rev. Cary Stockett, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Riles Funeral Home. Visitation will be in Wesley Hall from 1 p.m. until the service.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Darden, Heath Darden, Hunter Darden, Chip Nadolski, Luccio Maciel and Lee Andrew Bell.
Honorary pallbearers will be employees and former employees of LeTourneau who were associates of Mr. Loflin.
