Hours on Friday to apply for The Salvation Army of Vicksburg’s annual Angel Tree drive have been changed, Salvation Army officials said.
Applications will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the office, 530 Mission 66. The cut-off time had been 3 p.m., but officers have to attend a meeting in Jackson, said Phyllis Renfro, events chairman.
Applicants should bring identification, children’s birth certificates and proof of income and expenses. The Angel Tree campaign is set to kick off a week from today at the Vicksburg Mall. The campaign will run through Dec. 10, and distribution of gifts will be Dec. 15.
Angel Trees also will be set up at First Presbyterian Church, 1501 Cherry St.; Bowmar Baptist Church, 1825 U.S. 61 South; and Bass Shoe Outlet at the Outlets at Vicksburg, 4000 S. Frontage Road.
