Anita Maria Khullar

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Anita Maria Khullar passed away Feb. 10, 2012, at the age of 31 at her home.
Anita was born Oct. 15, 1980, in Cincinnati. She was the daughter of Helene Khullar and the late Surinder Khullar. She is survived by her husband, Stephen Wesley Dortch of Jacksonville; her mother, Helene Khullar; and grandmother, Juanita Beana of Lillian, Ala.; her sister, Gita (Ted) Graves of Destin, Fla.; her mother- and father-in-law, Mark and Alice Jean Dortch of Vicksburg; and sister-in-law, Alison (Sam) Easterby; and Alison’s children, Heather and Griffin of Atlanta.
Anita was of the Catholic faith. She graduated from Stephen T. Badin High school in Cincinnati in 1998. In 2004, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in criminal justice from the University of North Florida. She was employed by Zoll specializing in the sale of the LifeVest for heart patients. From 2007 until 2011, she was employed by the pharmaceutical company Daiichi Sankyo where she was awarded the prestigious Gold Cup in 2008 as Southeast Sales Representative of the year. Prior to that, Anita worked for Jewish Family & Community Services as a family services counselor working with abused and neglected children. She recently served on the board of directors for Kids First of Florida, a nonprofit organization serving abused and neglected children in Clay County. Anita was compassionate, energetic and could light up any room. She was deeply loved and will be deeply missed by her family and many close friends.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, at Hardage Giddens Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
