EDWARDS (AP) — A shuttered bank branch in downtown Edwards will become the site of a new health clinic.
Jasmin Chapman, chief executive officer of Jackson-Hinds Comprehensive Health Center, said the new clinic will offer primary care, dental care and a pharmacy.
She said it should open in September in the former BancorpSouth branch on South Magnolia Street.
The center has 15 community- and school-based clinics in Hinds, Copiah and Warren counties.
Tommy Darnell, president of BancorpSouth’s Hinds County division, said the clinic is a partnership among JHCHC, BancorpSouth and the town. He said the Tupelo-based bank sold the branch to JHCHC for an undisclosed amount.
