Republican presidential front-runner Mitt Romney has joined the cast of GOP candidates making plans to visit Mississippi before Tuesday’s primary voting.
A spokesman for the former Massachusetts governor’s campaign said he will appear in Jackson Friday, though a time and place have not been announced.
Early Tuesday, campaign offices for former U.S. Sen. Santorum of Pennsylvania and former U.S. Rep. Newt Gingrich of Georgia said the candidates will visit the state.
Santorum is to appear today at rallies in Tupelo and Jackson and on Sunday in Meridian and Gulfport.
Gingrich is to appear at rallies Thursday in Jackson, Tupelo and Southaven and a $250-per-person fundraiser at a Jackson restaurant.
On Monday, Gingrich and Santorum are to appear at the Gulf Coast Energy Summit in Biloxi.
Candidate Ron Paul of Texas has announced no plans to visit the state.
