City of Vicksburg Street Department employee Ryan Williams, back to camera, directs traffic around a mudslide along Mission 66 this morning after nearly 2 inches of rain fell on the city overnight. Charles Haley said he and co-workers responded to a slide on the four-lane street at about 6:20 a.m. and had it cleaned up by 7, but a second slide was reported at about 7:15. Department director Skipper Whittington said the integrity of the bluff on the east side of the road would be checked once it dries.
