Mary Ann Simmons died Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at Promise Hospital. She was 71.

Mrs. Simmons was born in Vicksburg and was a lifelong resident. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Simmons Sr.; her parents, Edward and Effie Clark; and a brother, Jerry Clark.

Survivors include her son, Jerry Simmons Jr. of Vicksburg; two daughters, Linda Holdiness of Vicksburg and Penny Gibson of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Thomas Clark of Vicksburg and Larry Clark of Crystal Springs; a sister, Doris Ivy of Port Gibson; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Antioch Cemetery with the Rev. Carroll Walker officiating. Visitation will be from 9 until 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Glenwood Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Holdiness, Phil Gibson, Jason McCort, William Clark, Phillip Manning, John Toney, Gary Barnes and Eric Adcock.

Honorary pallbearers will be Brenda and David Manning, Drs. Paul Pierce III and Paul Pierce IV, the staff of Promise Hospital, Barbara Oaks and Camellia Health Care.
