ARGYLE, Texas — Lorraine A. Hall passed away March 17, 2012, at Abundant Blessings Care Home in Argyle, Texas, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was 88.
Born Oct. 3, 1923, in Greenwood, Miss., she grew up in Vicksburg, attended St. Francis Xavier Academy and was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. She worked at Merchant’s National Bank for many years and retired as a vice president.
She is survived by two sons, Chuck Jones and his wife, Diana, of Highland Village, Texas, and Scott Jones and his wife, Doris, of Richmond, Texas; five grandchildren, Brandi Matous of Denton, Texas, Amy Whitton of Houston, Texas, and Graham Jones, Lauren Monroe and Lindsay Jones, all of Highland Village, Texas; five great-grandchildren, Will Whitton, Juliana and Chap Matous, Finnegan Jones and Parker Monroe; a brother, J. Preston Ammon of Dallas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Catherine Ammon of Vicksburg; a daughter, Katherine Jones; her first husband, Clyde C. “Duke” Jones; her second husband, Linus Parker Hall; brothers, George Ammon of Sumter, S.C., and Bobby Ammon, of Birmingham, Ala.; sisters, Dorothy Zimmerman of Phoenix, Ariz., Vera Grimland of Dallas and Evelyn Headley of Port Gibson; and grandson, Benjamin Scott Jones of Richmond, Texas.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the wonderful caregivers and staff at Abundant Blessings Care Home in Argyle, and Rambling Oaks Assisted Living in Highland Village for their loving care.
A special thanks to the Hall family, Parker, Linda, Tully, Martha, Peter and Bekki for welcoming Lorraine with open arms when she married Parker in 1997.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in her name to the Benjamin Scott Jones Scholarship Fund at the University of Houston; Alzheimer’s Association; Vicksburg Catholic School; or St. Paul Catholic Church in Vicksburg.
