The suspected accomplice of a man accused of stealing chicken wings, candy and clothing from a Monroe Street business earlier this week was arrested Friday after he turned himself in.
Douglas Howard, 46, 1603 Military Ave., came to the police station at 10:15 a.m., said Capt. Bobby Stewart.
Howard was charged with business burglary, and his bond was set at $25,000, said Stewart. He was in the Warren County Jail Friday night.
He is suspected of breaking into Hotdog Man, 1710 Monroe St., at 3:36 a.m. Wednesday and stealing a case of chicken wings valued at $25, candy valued at $40 and clothing valued at $150.
Another suspect, Derrick Chiplin, 38, 1312 1/2 Bowmar Ave., was picked up at his home shortly after the burglary.
A 1997 Ford F-150 that matched the description of the one seen near the business shortly after the break-in was found in Chiplin’s driveway, and the missing items were found in the back of Chiplin’s truck, Stewart said.
Chiplin, who was released Wednesday evening from the Warren County Jail on $10,000 bond, is on probation for sale of cocaine, Stewart said. It is not known if Howard has a criminal record.
