Services for Margie Lee “Miss Fat” Woodson will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Greater Grove Street Church with the Revs. Dr. Casey D. Fisher and Frank A. Gardner officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 7 p.m. Friday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Woodson died Friday, April 6, at River Region Medical Center. She was 86.

She was a lifelong resident of Warren County. She retired from the Vicksburg Warren School District as a bus driver and cook. She was a member of Evergreen M.B. Church, where she served as a deaconess and a member of Mount Zion Community Club, Evergreen Floral Club and the Redwood Community Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents, the Rev. Ben and Mary London Johnson; her husband, Nathan Woodson; two brothers, Jesse Johnson and James Johnson; and three sisters Mildred Wards, Pinky White and Ledora Miles.

She is survived by a son, Dr. Aaron Woodson of Oakland, Calif.; three daughters, Wyomie R. Scott, Fannie M. Tonth and Dr. I.V. Erves, all of Vicksburg; two brothers, David Johnson of Jackson and Willie Johnson of Minneapolis; three sisters, Rosie L. Brown of Vicksburg, Elizabeth McGriggs-Cook of Cleveland, Ohio, and Odessa Johnson of Detroit; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends, including Mary Ann Luckett and Victoria Taylor and the Davis, Byrd, Stamps, Regan, London, Thomas, Guise, Miller, Cattlin and Johnson families.
