Marcia Primrose Hilliker Ballard died Saturday, April 14, 2012, at her home. She was 84.

She was involved with Girl Scouts while living in New Orleans, Meridian, Jackson and Vicksburg. She was instrumental in opening the Mississippi Crafts Center and opened AlleyCat Artist gallery in Vicksburg. She was also a member of DAR and Morning Gardners Club.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Ronald Ballard; a brother, William P. Hilliker, of South Africa; her children, Jan Clay of Vicksburg, Pam Milone, of Brandon, and Gary Ballard of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Life Service will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 23, 2012, at Riles Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to charities of choice.
