Stamps, McRae to marry July 14

Mr. and Mrs. James C. Beamon Sr. of Vicksburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Tamika Michelle Stamps, to Cassius Marcellus McRae. Mr. McRae is the son of James McRae and Lela Harris, both of Bossier City, La.
Miss Stamps is the granddaughter of Roberta Stamps of Vicksburg; the late Charlie Stamps Sr. of Chicago; and the late George and Martha Beamon of Clarksdale.
Mr. McRae is the grandson of Eva Mae Harris and the late Detroit Harris Sr. of Bossier City and the late Earl McRae and the late Lois McRae of Williston, Fla.
The bride-elect is a 1999 graduate of Warren Central High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society, DECA, FTA, Who’s Who and the basketball and track teams.
She received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Jackson State University, where she was a member of the Pre-Health Society, Biology Club, Tiger Pride and National Honor Society.
Miss Stamps is employed at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
The prospective groom is a 1994 graduate of Bossier High School, where he was a member of Mu Alpha Theta math honor society.
He received an industrial engineering degree in 1999 from Florida A&M University, where he was a member of ROTC. He received a master’s degree in engineering management from Missouri University of Science & Technology.
Mr. McRae is a major in the U.S. Army.
The wedding will be at 4 p.m. July 14, 2012, at Triumph Church. A reception will follow at the Vicksburg Convention Center. All relatives and friends are invited to attend.
