EDWARDS — Services for John William “Dub” Alexander will be at noon Wednesday at Springridge M.B. Church in Edwards. Burial will follow at Bar Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Tuesday at Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home and Wednesday at the church from 11 a.m. until the service.
Mr. Alexander died Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at Select Specialty Hospital in Jackson. He was 88.
A retired farmer, he had also been employed at Cal-Maine Farms and Oakley Training School.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Whitley Alexander; one son, Oswald Alexander; two daughters, Daisy Marrietta Alexander and Susie Alexander; his parents, Daisy Henrietta Alexander and Henry Z. Alexander; three brothers, Benjamin Alexander, Charles Henry Alexander and Samuel Alexander; and one sister, Odessa Butler.
He is survived by four sons, James D. Alexander and Willie Frank Alexander, both of Jackson, Henry Alexander of Bloomington, Ill., and John Henry Alexander of Edwards; two daughters, Katie Louise Alexander of Jackson and Thelma Irene Hutton of Edwards; one sister, Katie Louise Horton of Edwards; 18 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
