Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol Trooper Daniel Lewis walks away from a Warren County Sheriff’s car after Deputy Dwayne Wilkinson lost control of the cruiser on wet pavement on U.S. 61 North at about 3 Saturday afternoon. The car, which had been northbound, spun before its back end slammed into the dirt and rock embankment on the east side of the highway. Wilkinson, whom Sheriff Martin Pace said was not on an emergency call, was examined and released from River Region Medical Center.
