Closer Mark Lamm gave up two runs before working out of a ninth-inning jam, and the Mississippi Braves hung on to beat Jacksonville 4-3 Saturday night at Trustmark Park.
The M-Braves took the lead for good with two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning and two more in the eighth. Ian Gac’s two-run single in the seventh gave the M-Braves a 2-1 lead, and Joey Terdoslavich had an RBI double in the eighth.
The M-Braves (29-40) and Suns (33-36) will wrap up their five-game series at Trustmark Park tonight at 5 p.m. It’s the last game of the first half of the season. The Southern League all-star break starts Monday, and the standings will reset when teams return to action Thursday.
