PORT GIBSON — Herbert Douglas Williams Sr. died Monday, June 25, 2012, at the Claiborne County Hospital in Port Gibson. He was 73.
Mr. Williams was a member of the Pipefitter’s Local 619 and had worked at LeTourneau. He was a lifelong resident of the Port Gibson and Hermanville areas.
He was preceded in death by four sons, Herbert Douglas Williams Jr., Dwayne Earl Williams, Sherman Marion Williams and Shannon Williams; two sisters, JoAnn Dickinson and Martha Klingler; and one brother, Emmitt Bruce Williams.
He is survived by his wife, Margie Marie Williams of Pattison; a son, Shane Ray Williams of Port Gibson; two daughters, Kimberly Childress of Batesville, Ark., and Dena Marie Stever of Little Rock, Ark.; four brothers, Theodore Williams of McNeill, Miss., James Earl Williams of Bentonia, John M. Williams of Jackson and Ronnie Ward Williams of Yazoo City; 30 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Glenwood Funeral Home in Port Gibson. Burial will follow at the Hermanville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Duane Pierce, Jerry Lee Messer, Greely Williams, Jesse Nelson, J.J. Bearden, Gary Grammer, Gene Nesmith and Bradley Channel.
