Services for Hazel Barbara Hill will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Rev. James Morris officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hill, formerly of Vicksburg, died Thursday, June 21, 2012, at her niece’s home in Pearl. She was 86.

Mrs. Hill was born July 31, 1925, to James Henry Watson Sr. and the Rev. Thelma Shelton Watson. She graduated from Magnolia High School and Alcorn A&M College in Lorman. She taught for 34 years in Chicago Public Schools, retiring in 1993.

She was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, James H. Watson Jr., Alvin Bethel Watson and Herschel Jurnell Watson Sr.; three sisters, Thelma Juanita Watson, Martha Elizabeth Love and Camille Burnadette Yates; and her husband, James B. Hill.

Survivors include a sister, Doris Jackson of Canyon Country, Calif.; two brothers, Leon Watson of Oakland, Calif., and Rueben Watson of Shaw, Miss.; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including Jacki Cooney and Perry Moore.
