Hello Vicksburg and Warren County,

What a blessed day July 19 was as we held a fundraiser for Wanda Caruthers at the Vicksburg Country Club. We came together to aid Wanda in her fight for her life. The good people of this community and our neighboring communities in Louisiana responded to the call as they showed up in mass numbers. Even Mother Nature could not deter our spirits.

We hope that all who participated were pleased with our efforts as we were certainly pleased with your response. Cancer is a nasty evil that most folks would rather not talk about. Throughout this ordeal, Wanda’s attitude about life and living has not wavered. She has remained resilient when others would have thrown in the towel. She still has plenty of fight in her. The communities’ generous gift will allow Wanda to pursue other medical experiments in Maryland later this year.

The many volunteers and silent auction donors are far too many for us to recognize, but, we know who you are. We are truly blessed to live in such a loving and caring community.
