EDWARDS — Ronnie Edward Whitley died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at River Region Medical Center. He was 50.

Born in Vicksburg, he had been a resident of Edwards for a number of years. Mr. Whitley was a self employed carpenter and a member of the Assembly of God.

He is survived by two daughters, Jessica Chandler and Kelley Chandler, both of Norfolk, Va.; his mother, Estelle S. Whitley of Edwards; two sisters, Barbara Barnett of Raymond and Patricia Thornton of Edwards; five brothers, Billy Whitley, Bobby Whitley and Don Whitley, all of Vicksburg, Jimmy Whitley of Monticello and Junior Whitley of Ward, Ark.; and one granddaughter;

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Carson Whitley.

Celebration of Life graveside services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Edwards Cemetery with Pastor Billy Talbert of the Solid Rock Pentecostal Church officiating. Services are under the direction of Riles Funeral Home.
