The engagement of Katherine Denise Ross to Thomas Shawn Parrish, both of Vicksburg, is announced today. Vows will be exchanged in a family ceremony at 4 p.m. Oct. 27, 2012, at the Southern Cultural Heritage Center. A reception will follow at 5 p.m. All family and friends are invited to attend the reception. No in-state invitations are being sent.

Miss Ross is the daughter of Jack Ross and the late Nancy Giles Ross of Utica. She is the granddaughter of the late Marvin and Polly Ross of Utica and the late Millard and Martha Ann Giles of Jacksonville, Fla.

She is a hairstylist and owner of Dimensions Salon & Spa.

Mr. Parrish is the son of Tommy and Kay Parrish of Vicksburg. He is the grandson of Katherine Dean and the late Jake Dean of Vicksburg and the late Jim and Christine Parrish of Parkin, Ark.

He is employed with Dimco Inc.
