Mr. and Mrs. Frank Purviance of Utica announce the engagement of their daughter, Tara Cameron, to Henry Isaac Holmes. Mr. Holmes is the son of Jimmy Holmes and Janet Holmes of Utica.

Miss Purviance is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Colbert Don Price of Utica and the late Hollis Langston Purviance and the late Olive Dinkins Purviance of Vicksburg.

Mr. Holmes is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Peay of Onward and Mary Francis Holmes and the late John “Bear” Holmes of Baton Rouge.

The bride-elect is a 2007 graduate of Rebul Academy in Learned. She will graduate from barbering school at Hinds Community College in September and will work at Cut Ups Salon of Vicksburg.

The prospective groom is a 2008 graduate of Rebul Academy. He received an associate degree in architectural design from Hinds Community College.

Mr. Holmes is employed at Hinds Community College in Raymond.

The wedding will be at 5 p.m. Oct. 6, 2012, at Utica United Methodist Church. A reception will follow at Wilsonwood Lodge in Vicksburg. All family and friends are invited to attend.
