Fuel at three Kangaroo Express stations in Vicksburg will be supplied by Valero by Oct. 31, a switch that began this week at the store at Mississippi 27 and East Clay Street.
The store had been supplied by Chevron Texaco, which is being replaced by San Antonio-based Valero at more than 160 Kangaroo-owned and operated stores in Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, Florida and Georgia as part of a deal announced in June.
About 25 Kangaroo stores in Mississippi with Chevron or Texaco gas will become Valero stations, said Kangaroo spokesman Scott Yates. Two more stores in Vicksburg will convert by the end of October, at 3326 Clay St. and at 3060 Indiana Ave.
Convenience stores at each location will remain Kangaroo-operated outlets.
Kangaroo is the primary operating banner for Cary, N.C.-based The Pantry Inc. The convenience store chain operates 1,589 stores in 13 states. Six operate in Vicksburg, including two unbranded gas stations on U.S. 61 South and at 4150 Washington St.
Valero Energy Corporation sells conventional gasoline, jet fuel, asphalt, petrochemicals and other refined products at 6,800 retail and wholesale outlets worldwide.
