Robert and Jacquetta Brewer of Vicksburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Kelli Lane, to Timothy Eugene Hicks Jr. Mr. Hicks is the son of Timothy Hicks Sr. of Vicksburg and Rita Reed of Marlinton, W.Va.

Miss Brewer is the granddaughter of the late Claude and Willie Brent of Vicksburg and Pete and Mary Brewer of Tallulah.

Mr. Hicks is the grandson of Tommy and Nettie Dennis and Francis Hicks and the late Clarence Hicks, all of Vicksburg.

The bride-elect graduated in the top third of her class in 2010 from Vicksburg High School, where she was named Most Valuable Player for soccer and softball.

Miss Brewer received certification as a licensed practical nurse from Northwest Community College, where she was named All Region and All State in soccer.

The prospective groom is a 2008 graduate of Vicksburg High School.

He received certification as a diesel technician from Hinds Community College.

Mr. Hicks is a diesel mechanic for Empire Truck Sales.

The wedding will be at 5 p.m. Oct. 6, 2012, at Cedar Grove Mansion. A reception will follow. All relatives and friends are invited to attend.
