A Vicksburg man is charged with felony eluding after running from police at a traffic stop, Vicksburg police Capt. Bobby Stewart said.

He said Albert Jones, 28, 522 Heartwood Drive, was being held in the Warren County Jail on $50,000 bond. He was arrested about 1:32 p.m. Wednesday on Military Avenue.

He said police stopped Jones at East Clay Street and Berryman Road for speeding, but he drove off. The officers followed him to Military, where he got out of his car and fled on foot. He later was found hiding in an abandoned house in the 2000 block of Military Avenue.
