The Yazoo River Towing workers, had just loaded their boat up with groceries and were heading back to their towboat downriver when an afternoon storm hit and pushed the boat under, Davis said. The men realized their boat was sinking under the combined weight of supplies and rainwater, and decided to swim for shore. Warren County Sheriff’s deputies and the Vicksburg Fire Department recovered the boat and supplies.
