Thompson, Schaffer are married in Texas

Patrick Randall Thompson and Laura Elaine Schaffer were married June 30, 2012, at Butler’s Courtyard in League City, Texas. The Rev. Richard Boyd officiated at the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Lucien and Elaine Smith Schaffer of League City. She is the granddaughter of Cason and Frances Schaffer of Vicksburg and the late Dan and Doris Smith of Yokena.

The groom is the son of Paul A. Thompson Sr. and Kimberly McQueen Thompson of League City. He is the grandson of Herman and Jonel Beard of Houston, Texas, and Gary and Suzanne McQueen of League City.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride’s chosen colors were black, red and white.

Maid of honor was Michele Knaus of Honolulu, Hawaii. Bridesmaids were Kim Ngo-Tran and Amber Thompson, sister of the groom, both of League City; and Paige Hammers, sister of the groom, of Lumberton, Texas.

Brandon Mickens of League City served as best man. Groomsmen were Nicholas Thompson and Paul A. Thompson Jr., brothers of the groom, and Daniel Schaffer, brother of the bride, all of League City.

Flower girl was Zoey Fowler, niece of the groom, of Lumberton. Ring bearer was Joshua Thompson, brother of the groom, of League City.

A reception followed the ceremony. Hostess was Janice Gunnin-Wiltson.

The couple will make their home in League City. The bride is a senior at the University of Houston-Clear Lake, where she is majoring in health care administration. The groom is employed with Gullett & Associates of Houston.
