PORT GIBSON — Dannie L. Bailey died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012, at his home. He was 56.

Mr. Bailey worked for the City of Port Gibson for more than 23 years.

He was preceded in death by his son, Mikal Donell King; father, Earl Bailey Sr.; mother, Louise E. Bailey; sister, Lilliam M. Kelly; and a stepbrother, George Barber.

Survivors include his son, Jeffrey Herrington of Vicksburg; two brothers, Earl Bailey Jr. of Milwaukee and James Bailey of Port Gibson; four sisters, Joyce M. Johnson of Jackson and Bertha Lee Bailey, Doris Ruth Nash and Lucinda Bailey, all of Port Gibson; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including the Carr, Perkins, Dorsey and Gilmore families.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at New China Grove M.B. Church in Lorman with the Rev. Ray Coleman officiating. Burial will follow at McCay Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Wednesday at Thompson Funeral Home and Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. until the service.
