KILLEEN, Texas — Willie Henry “Bill” Lockhart died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012, at Harker Heights Hospital. He was 72.
Mr. Lockhart was born on Aug. 20, 1940, to Hazel and Levi Lockhart Sr. in Crockett, Texas. He had a distinguished military career of 24 years and 17 years as a correctional officer for the Texas Department of Corrections.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Ruby of Killeen, formerly of Vicksburg; two sons, Gregg Lockhart (Kimberly) and Toby Lockhart, both of Killeen; a daughter, Tiffany Thomas (Derrick) of of Killeen; a son, Anthony Brown of Virginia; sisters, Sara Lockhart, Jessie Lockhart, Gracie Evans and Dorothy Lockhart, all of Crockett, Hazel Shepherd of Atlanta, Ga., and Erma Ryan of Houston, Texas; brothers, Eugene Lockhart Sr. (Lena), Levi Lockhart Jr. (Pat) and Curtis Lockhart, all of Crockett; grandchildren, Aliyah, Trey, DeMarcus, Ryan, Kennedi, Cameron, Dylan, Drew and Dallas; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends who will miss his smiling presence.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Greater Vision Community Church in Killeen. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Central Texas Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. Visitation will be tonight from 6 until 8 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen.
