Seeing only black and white

Published 1:54 am Sunday, September 9, 2012

It is a really sad situation that as far as America has come, some of our citizens still only see things in black and white as far as race relations are concerned.

In Sunday’s The Vicksburg Post, Malcolm Allred did nothing more than spout ignorance from his mouth and hatred from his heart, further proving my introductory point that some people can be so turned off by positive change, if it involves skin color, that they try and destroy it.

Republican supporters will have you believe that President Barack Obama and the Democratic party have done nothing in the last four years, which is nothing less than genocide in my opinion. Republican supporters try to place fear and confusion in the hearts of Americans to sway votes in their favor and further confuse them in an already “fine print” run government.

No more of an attack has been placed on America and its citizens in the last four years than in the eight years prior to Barack Obama. We would all like an overnight miracle with health care, employment, education and Social Security, but it can’t be performed by one man alone, not even Mitt Romney, and not after the slaughter that the Bush administration performed on America.

Obama is my president now and will be in the coming election. I won’t pretend, as most Republican supporters will, that I understand all the ins and outs of politics and government because that would entail a lie. But I won’t be intimidated or swayed by fear tactics, fast-talking, or ignorance.

Voters, do your own research and come to your own conclusions because nothing placed in this paper by readers or writers on the presidential election is more than their opinion.

Form your own!
