Members of Porters Chapel United Methodist Church, from left, Lundy Marshall, Doris Burrough, Betty Hardy, Brett Hoover, 7, Denise Ragsdale, B.B. Edwards and Faye Lancaster are ready to kick off the annual Porters Chapel Day, where they will offer pecan pies, German chocolate cake, chicken spaghetti and white chocolate and nuts cake. The event is Saturday at the church, 200 Porters Chapel Road, with the bake sale beginning at 9:30 a.m. and an all-you-can-eat buffet from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets are $8 and $6 for ages 6 and younger.
