Wibowo, Butler double up for St. Al

Wally Wibowo and Blaine Butler each won two individual events Saturday for St. Aloysius at the Jones County Invitational.

Wibowo won the boys 50-yard freestyle in 23.11 seconds, then got his second victory of the day by clocking a time of 51.24 seconds in the 100-yard freestyle. He was also on the winning 200-yard freestyle relay team with Dixon Stone, Rob Sanders and Charlie Martin.

The Flashes finished second in the 12-team meet with 70 points. Oak Grove totaled 128 points to win easily.

Butler won the girls 100-yard freestyle in 59.72 seconds, and the 100-yard backstroke in 1 minute, 10.47 seconds. Katie Martin finished third in the 100-yard butterfly.

The Lady Flashes finished seventh out of 10 teams in the overall standings.

St. Al will compete against Warren Central, Vicksburg High and Brandon in the Red Carpet Invitational today at 4:15 p.m. at City Pool.
