Two more accused drug dealers were arrested Wednesday, bringing the total number of people charged in a citywide drug sweep to 11.

Eric Smith, 38, 1018 Columbus St., Pattison, was arrested at 9:15 a.m. at his home by Vicksburg police and Claiborne County deputies and charged with sale of hydrocodone, police Capt. Bobby Stewart said.

Smith posted a $30,000 bail and was released from the Warren County Jail.

At 11 a.m., Eric Washington, 40, 204 Lovers Lane, surrendered at police headquarters and was charged with three counts of sale of cocaine, Stewart said. Washington was held this morning in the Warren County Jail in lieu of $60,000 bail.

The main operation of the drug sweep began at 8 a.m. Tuesday and wrapped up about 2 a.m. Wednesday, and more arrests are expected.

“We still have some outstanding warrants,” Stewart said.

Nine suspects arrested in the sweep and two others who were arrested in a methamphetamine bust appeared in Vicksburg Municipal Court Wednesday.

Suspects arrested in the drug sweep and their bail amounts are:

• Willie Wilson, 42, 9149 Mississippi 18, Port Gibson; sale of hydrocodone; $20,000. Wilson posted bail and was released.

• William Robinson, 57, 822 Meadow St.; sale of cocaine; $20,000.

• Paul Garrett, 46, 1218 Dewitt St.; two counts of sale of cocaine. $50,000.

• Sherman Williams, 55, 1312 Bowmar Ave.; two counts of sale of cocaine; $25,000. Williams was also held without bail for the Mississippi Department of Corrections. At his arrest, Williams was on probation from a 2007 conviction for possession of cocaine.

• Harvey Young, 61, 1115 Adams Lane; sale of cocaine; $25,000.

• Yvette Dillon, 54, 1115 Adams Lane; two counts of sale of cocaine; $40,000.

• Elliott Jackson, 43, 502 Farmer St.; sale of cocaine; $50,000. Though Jackson was only charged with one count, his bail was significantly higher because of a 2002 conviction for aggravated assault and armed robbery, Stewart said.

• Harvey Jackson, 38, 1104 Farmer St.; two counts of sale of cocaine; $50,000; posted bail and was released.

Oscar McNeil, 25, 4722 Roberta Circle, also was arrested in the sweep on a warrant for residential burglary, shooting into an occupied dwelling and attempted aggravated assault.

He is accused of kicking in the door of a home in the 3800 block of Halls Ferry Road on June 4 and firing inside. After being chased from the home, McNeil attempted to run over the resident, according to his arrest warrant. McNeil was held this morning in lieu of $175,000 bail. He was also held without bail for the Louisiana Department of Corrections.

The two meth arrests came at about 1 p.m. Tuesday after a disturbance was reported at AmeriHost Inn, 1350 Warrenton Road, Stewart said.

Brandy Hull, 37, and Tara Riddle, 47, whose addresses could not be confirmed, were arrested, and officers found several items used to make meth in the motel room.

A “shake-and-bake” meth cooker was found inside their vehicle in the parking lot. The method of manufacturing the drug is usually contained to a single container, such as a plastic soda bottle, police Chief Walter Armstrong said.

Hull and Riddle were held this morning in the Warren County Jail in lieu of $40,000 bail each.
