Funeral services for Ruby Lee Jackson will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at the Church of Christ Holiness U.S.A. with Elder Richard Drummond officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery with W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home in charge. Visitation hour is from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, in the chapel.
She passed away on Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, at River Region Medical Center following a lengthy illness. She was 74.
Mrs. Jackson was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ Holiness U.S.A. where she was a mother of the church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Lillie Mae Woodson; a son, Carl E. Jackson; a daughter, JoAnn Lynn Jackson; her brothers, Mannie Johnson and Clarence Johnson; and a sister, Georgia Woodson.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence E. Jackson Sr. of Vicksburg; her sons, Lawrence E. Jackson Jr. of Vicksburg, Charles J. Jackson of Jackson and Bruce E. Jackson of Cottondale, Ala.; her daughter, Shirley R. Brown of Vicksburg; her brothers, Joe Woodson Jr. of Vicksburg, Johnny Woodson of Cleveland, Ohio, and Patrick Woodson of Vicksburg; four sisters, Roberta Stamps, Alberta Wildee, Velma Woodson and Juanita Byrd, all of Vicksburg; her grandchildren, Maneka Jackson, Shaundrea Lynn White (Charles), Melva Lynn, Daquita Haggins, Jalisa Giles, Courtney Jackson, Amber Jackson, Michael Brown Jr., Dominque Brown Sr., Zachary Jackson, Timothy Jackson and Jerimiyah Brown; her great-grandchildren, Jayden Jackson, Ja Darius Funches, Kennadi Lynn, Andrew Spurlock Jr., Dominque Brown Jr. and Davion Coleman; nieces, nephews, cousins and others relatives including members of the Vaughn, Copeland, Wright, Clark, Harris, Woodson and Stamps families of Vicksburg.
